Since April the students on the D of E scheme have bared the wind, rain, cold, heat, sun (as short lived as that was!), early mornings, late nights, bugs in their food, bites on their faces and blisters on their feet, all in the name of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. A number of groups have experienced training weekends, practice day walks and weekend expeditions and assessed expeditions and they have thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Now that the long winter months are creeping in the expedition season will close until next April when hopefully even more students will achieve the award. Meanwhile the students will be working on other sections of the award and looking back fondly on their ventures over the spring and summer.
If you are interested in taking on the challenges of the Duke of Edinburgh award and are in year 9 see Miss Christie for some more information. The next intake will be in February 2008.
